An encounter
with music
Ten years of work, concerts, learning and commitment to chamber music. An initiative that keeps on growing.
MurciArt has evolved while keeping its essence intact: to make Murcia a meeting point for chamber music.
From its earliest editions, the festival has brought together musicians from different countries and traditions. Its artistic vision rests on three principles that give meaning to everything that happens on and off the stage.
In its first years, more than 9,000 people had already taken part in the MurciArt experience, a figure that reflects the bond the festival has built with its audience. Today, that initiative continues to grow.
Excellence
Internationally acclaimed performers and masters share the stage at every edition.
Education
A commitment to young musicians and to passing on knowledge as something alive.
Encounter
Spaces where artists, students and audiences share a close musical experience.

A bridge between the first encounter and the present
Ten editions mean far more than the passing of time. In 2026, MurciArt celebrates its tenth edition looking back to its origins and forward to the future at the same time.
As a symbol of this journey, the anniversary programme brings back Johannes Brahms's String Sextet No. 2, a work performed at the festival's first concert. A way of remembering where we come from as we keep moving forward.

Heritage is part of the story
MurciArt was born and grows in Murcia, a city with a deep cultural tradition that offers a unique setting for music and heritage to meet.
The venues that host its concerts are part of the experience. Architecture, history and music come together to create a stage that is not only physical but emotional.
Local roots and an international outlook. Murcia is the starting point; music has no borders.
Although deeply rooted in its land, MurciArt has had a clear international calling from the start. The artists, teachers and young musicians who take part build a network of exchange that connects Murcia with music scenes around the world.
This combination is one of the project's great strengths.
Artistic direction
Two musicians. Two paths. One shared passion.
There are many ways to make a festival. Ours began with something quite simple: we wanted to share the music we love with people who also wanted to hear it, discover it and live it.
We are Darlin Dyle and Rumen Cvetkov, violinist and violist, classically trained musicians and, above all, lovers of chamber music.
Our paths began far from Murcia and took us through conservatories, orchestras, stages and festivals around the world. But it was here that MurciArt was born.
And that was ten years ago.

Darlin Dyle
Violin · Artistic direction
The violin came into Darlin’s life very early. Born in Albania, he began his musical studies in Tirana and continued his training in Murcia, where he graduated with top marks and the Final Degree Award.
His career has led him to work as a soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster, sharing the stage with musicians and orchestras from many countries. He is currently concertmaster of the Region of Murcia Symphony Orchestra.
But if there is one thing that defines Darlin beyond the violin, it is his restlessness. He loves creating projects, bringing musicians together, teaching, discovering new talent and finding new ways to bring music closer to people. That curiosity has been in MurciArt’s DNA since day one.
For Darlin, making music has never been just about playing a score well. It is about meeting others, listening, learning and making something special happen when everyone starts to play.

Rumen Cvetkov
Viola · Artistic direction
Rumen took up the viola as a child and soon knew he wanted to devote his life to it. By the age of eight he was already performing as a soloist.
Since then, his instrument has taken him to stages all over the world: from Carnegie Hall in New York to the Berliner Philharmonie, Wigmore Hall in London and the Mozarteum in Salzburg. He has built an intense career as a soloist and chamber musician, working with great performers and taking part in international festivals in Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Yet after so many journeys and so many stages, one thing remains the same as at the beginning: the desire to play with other musicians.
Chamber music is his natural territory. A place with no leads and no accompanists, where everyone listens to everyone and a conversation can begin with a single note. That way of understanding music is also a fundamental part of MurciArt.
What brings us together
A decade of shared music. And there is still so much left to hear.
We come from different places and have different stories. But ten years ago we discovered we shared an idea: to create a festival where the music mattered, and so did the people behind it.
Great performers, young musicians, teachers, friends and audiences have all passed through MurciArt. We have organised concerts, gatherings, classes and projects. We have learned a great deal, improvised more than once and surely made the odd mistake.
We have also laughed a lot.
And after ten years, we still feel the same excitement about opening a door, inviting a musician, discovering a piece and sitting down to play. That is what MurciArt means to us.
